Overlake blanks King’s, 1-0, heads to 1A state girls soccer final

Overlake notched its third straight shutout, a 1-0 victory over King’s, in Friday’s 1A state girls soccer semifinal match at Shoreline Stadium.

Emerald City League most valuable player Jaquelin Nordhoff scored at the 50-second mark of the first half off an assist from Alex Hobbs.

Goalkeeper Julia Noble also kept the ball out of her net in Owl state wins against Klahowya (3-0) and Meridian (2-0).

“It’s incredible! I’m so, so proud of my teammates, and I’m really excited for tomorrow,” Noble said in an interview posted on the school’s Twitter page.

Overlake (19-1) will battle the winner of tonight’s Cascade (Leavenworth)/La Salle game at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the championship match at Shoreline Stadium.
