The Overlake School senior Alexa Anthony has signed to join University of South Carolina’s 2011-2012 equestrian team. Anthony will be competing with the Gamecocks’ Hunt Seat squad.

“We are very excited to have Alexa as part of our Gamecock family. She comes from a very strong riding family which has given her the opportunity to ride lots of different horses and get lots of mileage in many different ways,” said head coach Boo Major. “We have always been very pleased with the riders we have pulled out of the Northwest and I think Alexa will not disappoint.”

Anthony recently won first place in the Northwest division of the Maclay Regionals and plans to study Spanish and Italian at South Carolina.
