The boys routed Cedar Park Christian (Mountlake Terrace) 65-21, torching the nets for 45 points in the second and third quarters combined to pull away.

Freshman guard Luke Blankenbeckler led all scorers with 19 points, followed by Lucas Peterson with 17 and Ryan Strandin with 13.

The win improved the boys’ team to 18-3 overall, and sent them to a winner-to-state contest against Seattle Lutheran at 8:15 Tuesday night at Chief Leschi School in Puyallup.

The girls used a hot start to bury Orcas Island early in their 63-38 win over the Vikings.

The Lady Grizzlies led 19-4 after the first quarter and extended their lead to 49-29 after three.

Nikki Peterson notched a new career high with 25 points, followed by Catherine Fernandez with 10 points and six blocks.

Kristina Engelstone (nine points, 10 assists) and Morgan Rial (eight points, 10 rebounds) nearly had double-doubles for the Grizzlies. Bear Creek improved to 18-0 and take on Mount Vernon Christian in a winner-to-state game on Tuesday night at 6:30 at Chief Leschi.
