Red-hot Redmond beats Rossevelt, stretches winning streak to six games

The Mustangs beat Roosevelt, 5-1, Wednesday night to stretch its winning streak to six games and grab hold of third place in the Kingco 4A Crest Division.

After a slow start to the season, the Redmond High School baseball team is riding high.

The Mustangs beat Roosevelt, 5-1, Wednesday night to stretch its winning streak to six games and grab hold of third place in the Kingco 4A Crest Division.

Santa Clara signee Peter Hendron pitched six shutout innings, striking out eight and allowing only one hit in the victory Wednesday night at Hartman Park.

The win evened the Mustangs’ league record at 4-4. After starting the season 0-7, Redmond improved its overall record to 6-7.

Hendron got plenty of support as sophomore catcher Lucas Eliason hit two solo home runs — one in the second inning and another in the fifth. Senior Steven Danek also blasted a two-run shot over left field fence in the second inning. Eliason, Danek, Hendron and Brent Firth each had two hits as the Mustangs pounded out 10 hits in the victory.

The Mustangs look to extend their winning streak to seven with a matchup against Crown Division leader Woodinville Friday night at 7 at Woodinville High.
