Redmond boys, girls snag Highline tournament tiles | Prep Wrestling

In Redmond High wrestling action, the Mustangs defeated Bellevue, 63-12, on Thursday night to raise their 3A KingCo dual-meet record to 5-0. The squad is 16-2 overall.

On Wednesday, Redmond won a double dual at Cascade: 51-11 over Interlake and 42-36 over Kamiak.

Last Saturday, Redmond’s boys and girls each took first place at the Highline School District Invitational Tournament. This was the first year the boys and girls teams competed in the tournament. It’s first the team win for the girls in any tournament or competition.

Redmond individual winners for the boys were Jeremy Hernandez (145), Luke Kennedy (182) and Nick Kaneko (195). Girls winners were Shannon Curan (105), Leah Hiatt (111) and Nadia Medvinsky (145).
