Pacific Lutheran University men’s basketball head coach Steve Dickerson has announced the addition of Redmond High’s Kyle Sawtell and six other players to the Lutes’ program for the start of the 2013-14 season.

Sawtell, a 6-foot-3 wing, averaged 17.5 points and six rebounds per game last season. The third-leading scorer in the 4A Kingco, he earned honorable mention all-league honors as both a junior and senior.

“Kyle is a scorer with unlimited 3-point range, and he wants the ball with the game on the line,” Dickerson said. “Because of his strength, he is a scoring threat from anywhere on the floor, and coupled with his enthusiasm, he can become a top-notch defender.”

Pacific Lutheran University is located in Tacoma.
