Redmond, Overlake boys soccer on a roll | Prep soccer, lacrosse roundup

Playing on the road at Pop Keeney Stadium last Friday, the Mustang boys' soccer team shut out Bothell 2-0. Bryan Forbes first scored on a penalty kick for Redmond's first goal, and Cooper Bilginer scored in the game's waning minutes off an assist from Jacob Kappes, with Grayson Raffensberger earning the shutout in goal.

With the win, Redmond improved to 5-1 on the season.

 

Owls continue hot streak, shut out Vikings

The Overlake boys’ team continued their storm through the Emerald City League last Friday with a 5-0 shutout over Bellevue Christian.

The Owls did all of their scoring in the second half, led by the hat trick of Jesse Klug (51st, 68th, 72nd minutes), with Rohan Kumar and Chris Chin posting the other two goals.  Gavin Mackinlay assisted three of the goals, and Dean Poplawski the other two, while Jack Roberts earned the shutout.

With the win, Overlake improved to 6-0 on the year.

 

Overlake lacrosse routs Klahowya

In Boys Division II lacrosse action, the Owl boys ran all over Klahowya 20-2 on Saturday afternoon.

Four players scored four or more goals for Overlake, led by Barrett Jenness with five, and Colton Umberger, Frost Cunningham and Kenny Dyer with four each.

Defensively, Eric Risa scooped 15 ground balls to lead all players.
