Redmond wrestlers advance to regionals

A dozen Redmond wrestlers put in strong showings at the 4A KingCo championships at Juanita High and advanced to the regional tournament this weekend at Skyline High.

Tops for the Mustangs — who took second in the team standings — are: Carson Lui (170, first), George Matusevych (182, first), Cal Wellner (106, second), Noah Medvinsky (138, second), Sean Allenshipman (138, fifth), Preston Drake (145, fifth), Thad Holetz (152, fourth), Alex Rousselle (152, fifth), John Englander (160, fourth), Anthony Munoz (220, fourth), Mitchell Marshall (285, second) and Lucas Barretto (285, fourth).

At the girls sub-regional, Molly Williams took first at 115, Leah Hiatt took first at 120 and Shannon Curran took second at 120. Redmond placed third in the team standings.

The regional tournament is this weekend at Sedro-Woolley High.
