The Old Fire House Teen Center in Redmond is hosting the eighth annual RedSkate, a co-ed youth skateboarding competition, for 19 year olds and under, to take place all day Saturday, July 25 at Edge Skate Park, corner of Northeast 83rd Street and 161st Avenue Northeast.

Practice begins at 9 a.m. with registration at 10 a.m. The entry fee is $5.

Here’s the schedule for the various competitions:

11 a.m.: Beginner

Noon: Intermediate

2:30 p.m.: Shop Sponsor/Advanced

This competition is a tradition at the Teen Center since 2001. There are three skateboarding divisions; Shop Sponsor/Advanced, Intermediate and Beginner, all competing in a “jam” format contest. Prize packs will be given away. This is a fun event with free music and sno-cones.

RedSkate is organized by the City of Redmond’s Old Fire House Teen Center with the help of local skater Jesse Nelson. The event is possible through the generous support of Bombshelter, Manik Skateboards, Monster Skateboards, Nomadic skateboards and many more sponsors.
