The local Lake Washington U-18 Chargers, consisting of high schools students attending Lake Washington, Redmond, Interlake and Bellevue Christian, defeated Fall City United, 2-0, to win the 2009 President’s Cup last Sunday, Dec. 13, at Starfire Sports Complex in Tuwkila.

Midway through the first half, Adam Krebs of Lake Washington High assisted a header to Interlake High’s Christian Schultz for the game’s first score, and early in the second half it was Krebs scoring off a feed from fellow Kangaroo David Gillam.

Redmond High’s Mauricio Romano was solid in goal, making several key saves to earn the shutout.

The President’s Cup is an annual event sponsored by the Washington State Youth Soccer Association and the Dairy Farmers of America.
