Leadership Eastside students to present community projects

Leadership Eastside’s Board of Directors invites residents to attend the Class of 2010 Community Project Presentations.

The event will take place Thursday, May 8 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Redmond Campus of Lake Washington Technical College, 6505 176th Ave. NE.

Projects offer innovative insights into and solutions for these community issues:

• 8:30 a.m.: V.O.T.E. — engaging Eastside immigrants.

• 9:10 a.m.: Workforce Housing — demystify “affordable housing.”

• 9:50 a.m.: Urban Farmers — fresh fruit from backyards to food banks.

• 10:30 a.m.: Diverse Public Spaces — more third places in Eastside communities.

• 11:10 a.m.: P.E.P. Squad — teen philanthropy experience.

• 11:50 a.m.: Building Community — strong connections through community organizations.
