On May 25, the Rose Hill Junior High School Washington Teen Institute (WTI) held a drug walk fundraiser to raise money to support drug-free activities for 2011-12.

Students solicited pledges from family and friends and then participated in a two-mile walk around the school to bring attention to the drug concerns in the community such as fake marijuana use and prescription drug abuse.

Next year’s fall walk will be from Rose Hill to the Kirkland skate park with a celebrity guest speaker. A total of 28 seventh- through ninth-grade students braved the rain for this year’s event.
