Redmond youths celebrate a job well done at teen center’s End of School Bash

Redmond’s Old Fire House Teen Center collected more than 50 cans of food for Hopelink as part of Wednesday’s annual End of School Bash, a celebration of an academic year well done.

The event featured a myriad of events, including the “Hoops for Food” event, a three-on-three basketball tournament which pitted teens against teams from the Redmond Police and Redmond Fire Departments.

There were six teams that participated in the tournament as the Fire squad won the tournament for the third straight year. But the real winner was charity and camaraderie.

“Even though this was a tournament, it was really nice to see how all the basketball players came together to have a good time,” said 17-year-old Lena Palladina, an OFH youth advisory board member.

The End of School Bash also featured a dodgeball game, tie-dye shirt making, a Weird Instrument Club performance, a pool tournament, live music and other activities.
