LINKS seeks volunteers to tutor Lake Washington School District students

LINKS (Looking Into the Needs of Kids and Schools) is seeking volunteers to provide classroom help and tutoring to Lake Washington School District (LWSD) students.
All new volunteers are required to attend a LINKS volunteer orientation and complete a LWSD volunteer application. Volunteers must be approved before being placed in a school. Upcoming volunteer orientations are scheduled for Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. and Sept. 28 at 9:30 a.m. Orientations take place at the LWSD Resource Center located at 16250 NE 74th St. in Redmond Town Center.
Elementary school needs include tutoring students in reading, math and writing. Junior and senior high schools need academic mentors and tutors to help students during lunch time and after-school study programs.
In addition, Participating schools are in need of Lunch Buddies to meet once a week with the same student as a social mentor throughout the school year.
