Friends of Youth (FOY) has named Janet Turpen as an addition to the youth service agency’s board of directors.
Turpen is regional vice president of government and regulatory affairs for Comcast Cable‘s Washington region. She brings advocacy experience and a deep sense of commitment to the youth of the community to her role.
“We are so pleased to have Janet join our board,” said Terry Pottmeyer, president and chief executive officer of FOY. “Her experience will be a tremendous asset to our organization as we work to strengthen our agency’s service to youth. In these difficult economic times, we are seeing an increasing number of youth seeking our services, particularly in our homeless services division. We look forward to Janet’s leadership in advocating for our youth on a local, regional and state level.”
FOY is a nonprofit agency that provides a number of shelter, housing, counseling and prevention services for young people and their families in King and Snohomish counties.
