The winner of this year’s Derby Days Criterium in the Elite Men’s category was Ian Crane with a time of 1 hour, 29 minutes and 54 seconds.

Crane and his team, Hagens Berman, will receive $1,000, with the second place team, RITTE, receiving $800 and the third place team, Astelloy Onoelogy, receiving $600.

Two-time defending champion David Richter and his team, HSP, received fourth and $400.

The criterium, the country’s longest-running bike race, took place on Saturday among the Derby Days festivities. The race was a multi-lap course in downtown Redmond, with a time limit. The racers average around 30 miles an hour and each lap is seven-tenths of a mile. The first rider to cross the finish line once the time limit was up won.

The top 31 finishers in Crane’s category all finished within a second of each other.

The winner in the Men’s 3 category was Tony Pletcher and his team, Bikesale.com. The team received $250. The winner of the Elite Women’s category — and recipient of $250 — was Ivy Audrain and her team, Keller Rohrback. The winner of the Women’s 3 category was Laura Dodd and her team, SCCA/Starbucks. The team received $75.

This year’s Derby Days Criterium sponsor, Swedish Medical Center, allowed organizers to raise the prize money to $10,000 — making it the largest prize in Washington.
