City of Redmond Mayor John Marchione will be among a number of regional leaders to take the stage at GoGreen Seattle 2013 on Wednesday.

The event is a one-day intensive on triple-bottom-line practices for businesses and governments. Just a couple days after Earth Day, the annual event aims to empower attendees to further green operations at their own organizations and facilitate active collaboration with peers in the region to build a more sustainable future for Puget Sound.

The day’s keynote speaker will be King County Executive Dow Constantine with welcome remarks by Virginia Mason Medical Center CEO Dr. Gary Kaplan.

This year’s speaker lineup features an entirely new roster of more than 40 stakeholders in the Pacific Northwest and includes balanced representation from the public and private sectors, academia and NGOs.

Marchione will be part of the mayor’s forum on sustainable urban development, which will also feature Snoqualmie Mayor Matt Larson and Kirkland Mayor Joan McBride.

Other highlights from the conference include a climate change leadership plenary detailing active solutions to limit damage and prevent future impacts and an alternative vehicle showcase featuring low-impact vehicle technologies for business and government fleets. There will also be the GoGreen Collaboration Hub, which will allow attendees to engage in both facilitated and informal dialogue with their peers around working solutions to shared challenges, sparking future endeavors and growing the conference community’s collective impact.

GoGreen Seattle 2013 will be at the Washington State Convention Center at 800 Convention Pl. in Seattle. Tickets are available at seattle.gogreenconference.net. Full admission tickets are $175. Group-rate full admission tickets for groups of two or more are $150. Online registration will close at 5 p.m., Tuesday. A limited number of tickets will be available for purchase onsite for an additional $25.
