Judge Mike Heavey will present his speech, “The Amanda Knox Case — The Pathology of a Wrongful Conviction,” at the Rotary Club of Redmond meeting this Thursday.

The lunch meeting will be held from 12:15-1:30 p.m. at Redmond Marriott Town Center, 7401 164th Ave. N.E.

Heavey has been an attorney, Washington state lawmaker and a King County Superior Court Judge with more than 12 years presiding over hundreds of criminal and civil cases. However, it is his work as a volunteer championing the innocence of his Seattle neighbor, Knox, that inspired him to get involved in the judicial evaluation of innocence.

Judge Heavey’s presentation will cover the Knox case from its beginnings through the most current developments as “a case study in the pervasive pathology that leads to wrongful conviction.”
