Redmond’s Bateman wins $1,000 Eastside Republican Club scholarship

Redmond’s Chelsea Bateman, a student at Woodinville High planning to attend Western Washington University, is the $1,000 winner of the Eastside Republican Club’s 2013 Scholarship Essay Program.

The scholarship will be presented on Tuesday at the club’s monthly meeting at the VFW Post 2995 conference hall in Redmond. Applicants for the club’s scholarship essay program were required to submit an essay of up to 500 words on the topic “What is the best way to stop gun violence without infringing on the rights protected by the Second Amendment?”
