City seeking to fill Planning Commission vacancy

Redmond residents with an interest in the future growth and character of the city are invited to apply for an upcoming vacancy on the Redmond Planning Commission.
Planning commissioners are appointed by the mayor, confirmed by City Council and may serve up to two four-year terms. All board and commission members are volunteers.
The commission’s role is to make recommendations to City Council regarding planning policy and land use regulations. This coming year, the commission will work on updates to development regulations and policy issues related to transportation, neighborhoods and economic development.
Planning Commission meetings are held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, typically three times a month, and are cablecast live on Redmond City Television.
To apply, print out and complete the community service application at www.redmond.gov/government/boardscommissions and either mail to the Office of the Mayor, City of Redmond, PO Box 97010, Redmond, WA 98073-9710 or fax to (425) 556-2110. A copy of the community service application is also available in the mayor’s office on the fourth floor of City Hall.
