Alcott fifth-grader advances to Washington State Geography Bee

Arjun Manesh, a fifth-grade student at Louisa May Alcott Elementary School, won a school-wide geography competition.

Based on his score on the national test, he has qualified for the Washington State Geography Bee. The state-level competition will be held on March 27 at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma. There, Manesh will compete against other fourth- through eighth-grade students for a chance to go to the National Geographic Bee Championship, to be held at National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C., in May.
