Eckmann receives Washington State University scholarship

Maria Eckmann was awarded the $1,000 Elgin Syferd/DDB Scholarship in Advertising and Public Relations from The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University. Recipients of this award are pursing either the advertising or public relations sequence and are enrolled in upper division communication classes at WSU.

Eckmann graduated from Redmond High School in 2013. She plans to graduate from WSU in May 2017 with a degree in communication.

Eckmann is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, where she serves as the assistant house manager. She is also on the President’s Honor Roll and was nominated for the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Eckmann is the daughter of Catherine and Christian Eckmann of Redmond.
