Inaugural World Dance Party Eastside to be held at Old Redmond Schoolhouse

On Sept. 19, the inaugural World Dance Party (WDP) Eastside will be held at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center, 16600 N.E. 80th St.
The event will be from 6:30-9 p.m.
The idea for WDP Eastside came from WDP events that have been held in Seattle after community members expressed concerns regarding the lack of connections between elders and young people, and between neighbors of different ethnicities.
As members of Redmond’s community have grappled with similar issues, volunteers decided to bring this event to Redmond. WDP is a grassroots celebration of culture and community; with food, fun, music and dance.
People can learn different multicultural dances taught by volunteer instructors. Attendees are asked to bring a potluck dish to share at this free event.
