Students at Rosa Parks Elementary School on Redmond Ridge celebrated the life of their namesake, and the virtues she represented at a “courage assembly” on Feb. 5.

The civil rights activist’s birthday is Feb. 4. Students who completed “personal best” work were recognized with Rosa Park courage awards.

The assembly closed the program with a song: “We will remember you; we’ll always honor you; Rosa Parks, Rosa Parks; dignity each day.”
