A Redmond police officer contacted an assault victim in the police department lobby at about 5:51 p.m. on April 23.
The victim reported that he was eating lunch with a friend at a restaurant in the 8000 block of 161st Avenue Northeast when another patron walked over to him and verbally confronted him. The suspect began making threatening statements and physically assaulted the victim before leaving the business.
The suspect was contacted at his residence where he admitted to the assault and was arrested for fourth-degree assault.
