Redmond-based Noetix Corp., a world-class provider of business intelligence (BI) software and services for enterprise applications, today announced it has been selected for King County’s annual list of Best Workplaces for Recycling and Waste Reduction for the second consecutive year.

Redmond-based Noetix Corp., a world-class provider of business intelligence (BI) software and services for enterprise applications, today announced it has been selected for King County’s annual list of Best Workplaces for Recycling and Waste Reduction for the second consecutive year.

King County’s Solid Waste Division initiated the list four years ago to recognize businesses for strong internal recycling programs and for their commitment to making recycling a priority for their companies.

In 2010, 75 businesses, including restaurants, manufacturers, city governments, and a wide variety of others demonstrated fulfillment of the listing’s criteria and provided individual stories about how successes were achieved.

“Thanks to the participation of businesses like Noetix, our list has grown again this year and it’s truly inspiring to read about the recycling programs, Green Teams, organics recycling, and waste reduction strategies employed by so many in King County,” said Karen May, project manager, Recycling and Environmental Services at King County Solid Waste Division.

To qualify as a Best Workplace for Recycling and Waste Reduction, companies must meet at least 10 criteria from a list of more than 30 good business recycling practices that range from placing recycling bins by every desk to collecting food scraps for composting.

The Noetix Green Committee, established in 2008, expanded its recycling efforts this year to include battery recycling, plastic grocery bag recycling, and compact fluorescent bulb (CFL) recycling.

To further educate employees on the company’s recycling efforts, Noetix updated its Green Committee intranet page, making it easier for Noetix employees to read about the latest Green news and events.

As part of the intranet update, the Green Committee has implemented a “Free-Cycle” program that allows Noetix employees to swap unused items with other employees. The Noetix Green committee meets quarterly and strives to make Noetix one of the best workplaces for recycling and waste reduction.
