While the Seattle Seahawks battle their way through the season, Redmond chef John Howie aims to be crowned champion in the fight against hunger for the second year in a row. Howie and former Seahawk and musician Craig Terrill are once again joining forces to represent the Seahawks in the Taste of the NFL’s Kick Hunger Challenge at Super Bowl XLVIII.
Here’s what Howie has on tap (all proceeds will go toward the Kick Hunger Challenge):
• At his SPORT Restaurant & Bar in Seattle, Howie is selling $10 raffle tickets for a signed Russell Wilson jersey. Tickets are available through Jan. 8, 2014.
• Howie is raffling off a 2013 Toyota Prius for $25 a ticket through Jan. 8. Tickets are available at all of Howie’s restaurants or Toyota of Kirkland.
• On Jan. 8, SPORT will host a “New York, New York” auction and dinner at 6 p.m. Tickets are $50 each, available through Brown Paper Tickets.
Every dollar raised for the Seahawks in the Kick Hunger Challenge will be distributed through Seattle Food Lifeline, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending hunger in western Washington. For every dollar that is raised, three nutritious meals will be provided to someone in need.
