Symetra and the Seattle Seahawks honored Redmond High School (RHS) teacher Paula Ferguson and 23 other Puget Sound-area teachers as Heroes in the Classroom on May 24 at CenturyLink Field. The teachers received a tour of the owner’s box and the press box before using the coaches’ elevator to reach the Seahawks’ locker room.
If you are a graduating high school senior like me — congratulations! You’re probably relieved and excited like I am to have made it to the end of a long and drawn-out year of studying, stress and senioritis. The year has come to a close and I’m looking forward to a hopefully relaxing summer before it’s back to school again. Yet when I attempt to sum up my year in just a single phrase, only one disappointing word comes to mind: anticlimactic.
On June 2, participants in the Serious About Fitness 8K Block Party gathered at Luke McRedmond Landing to kick off the eight-kilometer run/walk along the Sammamish River Trail to the Redhook Brewery in Woodinville. The grassy venue next to the trail offered the perfect place for the first of four challenges in a series of fitness exercises along the 8K path.

On June 16, the 24-year-old Redmond resident will represent Washington at the Miss USA competition, competing not only for the Miss USA 2013 title, but also for the chance to represent the nation in the Miss Universe pageant.
This week, Trinity Osborn, an art teacher at the Bear Creek School in Redmond, was honored as Barnes & Noble’s “Favorite Teacher 2013” by the Woodinville book store thanks to Bear Creek senior Morgan Cadigan’s letter of recommendation.
