On July 24, Bill the Butcher at at 7990 Leary Way N.E. in Redmond will host a Parking Lot Cookout from noon to 6 p.m.

The event will include sliders and other treats off the grill from Bill the Butcher.

All the proceeds from the cookout will go to etc4kids.org, a nonprofit that runs camps for children which focus on helping them learn more about their talents. Camps are active, fun and confidence building. Kids participate in workshops that expose them to a variety of talents: drama, sports, music, cooking, science, art and more.

From 1 to 3 p.m., guests can enjoy a Kids Got Talent Show performed by the children who attended camp the week of June 27.

A Lamb Kabob-Off event will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. and feature Bill the Butcher vs. Seattle Lamb Jam. The winner will be decided by the audience.

Attendees will also have the chance to win two tickets to this year’s Seattle Lamb Jam on Oct. 23.

The etc4kids.org camp costs are kept to a minimum of $25 per camper and $50 per family. Scholarships are also available so all children can attend.”

The exciting thing about etc4kids summer camps is that they include kids from all walks of life, even children living in homeless shelters or in other at risk situations,” said camp director and founder Kristin Qualls.

The camp plans to rent shuttles or busses for the 2012 camp to transport children back and forth and will also feed them breakfast before camp begins each morning.

The Parking Lot Cookout at Bill the Butcher will help pay for these additional 2012 camp expenses.
