Stantec has announced the promotion of Duncan Wallace to principal in the company’s commercial program development practice.

In addition to managing current project work from the company’s Redmond office, Wallace will lead a larger company initiative to broaden the company’s base of retail, restaurant and petroleum architectural project work in the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada.

The announcement was made by John Johnson, vice president of Stantec’s Commercial Program Development practice.

“With nearly 18 years served with the company, Duncan has consistently demonstrated proven leadership and exceptional design work, while overseeing the strategic direction of his office,” said Johnson. “Working with architectural and engineering colleagues in Stantec’s U.S. and Canadian offices, Duncan will play an important role in expanding our client base and overall presence in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest.”

To support business development in Western Canada, Wallace will work with leadership from the company’s Kelowna and Abbotsford offices in British Columbia on work for newly acquired clients in several sectors, such as in the casual and fine dining arena with concepts like House of Wings Restaurants. Traditional project work in this region is anticipated to range from tenant improvements to full-scale ground-ups requiring comprehensive architectural and engineering services.
