I want to add my voice to the crowd in opposition to the red light cameras popping up all over Redmond.

Although probably instigated for seemingly good reasons this level of police oversight is intrusive and annoying.

As far as I can tell they do very little to reduce the jumping of red lights and seem to be only trying to enforce against “California” rolling stops on right turns. This is clearly a revenue generating measure under the guise of “safety”.

If we are to have these cameras to generate revenue for the city then their presence should be put to a vote.
