The recent letter from Anna Jensen, Kirkland (June 19 edition) states the exact reason why I am not comfortable with Judge Sotomayor being on the Supreme Court, or even a judge for that matter.

She wrote that Judge Sotomayor says that she “strives never to forget the real-world consequences of my decisions …..” Wisdom in sentencing or fines is understandable but NOT in decisions/rulings. These should be solely based upon the law, the U.S. Constitution. Yes, it is as simple as that.
