Due to the strong demand for tickets to “Cavalia: A Magical Encounter Between Human and Horse,” organizers have announced an additional week of performances.

Cavalia, which premieres on Jan. 18 under the White Big Top at Marymoor Park at 6046 W. Lake Sammamish Parkway N.E. near Redmond, will now extend its run to Feb. 12.

“Cavalia was enthusiastically embraced by the Seattle community in 2004 and the demand for tickets this year has been overwhelming,” said Normand Latourelle, Cavalia’s founder and artistic director. “The show has been significantly renewed since 2004: new horses — who never give exactly the same performance twice anyway, increasing the excitement — and performers have been added, each with his or her own strengths. The Puget Sound community’s strong equestrian roots and appreciation for the theatrical arts are why we have been eager to return and share this new show experience.”

Cavalia is an orchestration of multimedia, equestrian and performing arts. Charged with poetry and emotion in a dream-like virtual setting, the show combines acrobatics, dance, aerial artistry and live music with the addition of horses.

The stars of Cavalia, the 45 horses representing 10 different breeds from the United States, Canada and Europe, will arrive in Redmond and take up residence in their stables near the White Big Top on Jan. 12 at 1 p.m.

Latourelle is the visionary and creator behind Cavalia. Since co-founding Cirque du Soleil, he has become renowned for his large-scale innovative productions that take spectators to new realms. Cavalia is a tribute to horses and a celebration of the relationship humans and horses share together.

Tickets are on sale now and are priced from $34.50 to $99.50, plus applicable fees. The show can also be customized for an extended experience from $129.50 to $189.50, including a Horse Lovers Package which allows patrons tour Cavalia’s stables after the show, and the VIP Rendez-Vous Package, which includes the post-show stable tour, a cocktail/dinner reception and much more. Special pricing is also available for children (2-12), juniors (13-17), and senior citizens (65+).
