City of Redmond seeks applicants for Planning Commission vacancy

Redmond residents with an interest in the future growth and character of the city are invited to apply for an upcoming vacancy on the volunteer Redmond Planning Commission. Planning commissioners will be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the City Council, and they may serve for up to two four-year terms.

Redmond residents with an interest in the future growth and character of the city are invited to apply for an upcoming vacancy on the volunteer Redmond Planning Commission. Planning commissioners will be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the City Council, and they may serve for up to two four-year terms.

The commission’s role is to make recommendations to the City Council regarding planning policies and land-use regulations. Examples of upcoming topics for the Planning Commission include updates to the Parks, Arts, Recreation, Culture and Conservation (PARCC) Plan; design standards for new development; and development regulations for the Marymoor Subarea and Overlake Village.

Planning Commission meetings are held at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays, typically three times per month, and they can be viewed live on Redmond City Television on Comcast Channel 21 or Frontier Channel 34.

There is no deadline but interested citizens are encouraged to submit an application by 5 p.m. March 25.
