City to host drop-in event for zoning code input

As part of the City of Redmond’s effort to rewrite its zoning code, the city will host its final drop-in Open Office Event from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7 in the Trestle Room on the first floor of Redmond City Hall, 15670 NE 85th St. The purpose of rewriting the city’s zoning code is to improve the clarity, conciseness and predictability of the code for all users.

As part of the City of Redmond’s effort to rewrite its zoning code, the city will host its final drop-in Open Office Event from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7 in the Trestle Room on the first floor of Redmond City Hall, 15670 NE 85th St. The purpose of rewriting the city’s zoning code is to improve the clarity, conciseness and predictability of the code for all users.

The event is informal and attendees can speak with city staff and learn about and provide feedback for proposed change concepts on the Final Development Standards Package, as well as other minor changes to sections reviewed to date.

The final package includes regulations for Southeast Redmond Neighborhood, Sammamish Valley Neighborhood, Willows/Rose Hill Business Park Regulations, Public View Corridors and Gateways, Master Planned Developments, Site Requirements Chapter, Preliminary Plat Modifications, Electric Vehicle Charging Rapid Charging Stations, Dredging and Definitions.

City staff seeks input from residents and businesses prior to review of these zoning code sections by the Code Rewrite Commission, which will begin its review in November 2010.
