Kevin Haistings, a 45th district legislative candidate who is running against incumbent Rep. Roger Goodman (D), will host a roundtable discussion with Port Commissioner Bill Bryant tonight at 7 at the North Kirkland Community Center, 12421 103rd Avenue NE in Kirkland.

Haistings is anxious to get Washington residents back to work, saying that “the current economic climate of our state does not encourage job growth, and I look forward to hearing Bill’s ideas on this important issue.”

Bill Bryant is chairman and founder of Bryant Christie Inc, which helps companies eliminate foreign trade barriers and develop new international markets. Bryant has been appointed by both Democratic and Republican administrations in addition to the United States Export Import Bank to advise on the nation’s trade policies.

As Seattle Port Commissioner, Bryant has taken on the unique task of creating jobs and protecting the environment and been successful in balancing the budget of the Port of Seattle, Haistings said.

Haistings is a 25-year law enforcement veteran and a sergeant with the Seattle Police Department. Married to his wife Kimberly for 24 years, they raised their two sons in the Carnation.
