Closures of Novelty Hill Road planned for the next two weekends

Drivers can expect intermittent lane closures throughout this week on Northeast Novelty Hill Road, along with a complete closure of a section of the road over the next two weekends.

Drivers can expect intermittent lane closures throughout this week on Northeast Novelty Hill Road, along with a complete closure of a section of the road over the next two weekends.

Workers will be clearing, grading, and placing erosion control blankets on the hillside along Northeast Novelty Hill Road as part of King County’s Northeast Novelty Hill Road project. Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. today through Friday.

In addition, as part of the project, crews will be working along Northeast Union Hill Road near the Evans Creek Bridge and 195th and 196th Avenues Northeast, but no lane closures are expected on these roads.

Drivers should plan to take a different route this weekend and next as Northeast Novelty Hill road will be closed between the 19500 and 19800 blocks from 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9 to 4 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, and from 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16 to 4 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19.

In both of these closures, there will be local access to 197th Circle Northeast.
