Community Scholarship Awards applications due by March 15

The Community Scholarship Awards (CSA) program has been launched for the 2009-10 school year. The CSA is a scholarship program founded by the American Legion Post 161 and City of Redmond Teen Programs to support students interested in pursuing post-secondary education and to engender the desire to become active contributing citizens of the Redmond community through community service.

Scholarships are made possible through generous donations from the American Legion Post 161 of Redmond, Faith Lutheran Church in Redmond and citizen John DeVore.

Additional scholarship contributions are welcome, from businesses, organizations or individuals, to assist more young people in continuing their education.

Applications for scholarships are due by March 15, 2010. Guidelines and forms are available online at http://www.redmond.gov/insidecityhall/parksrec/teens/teens.asp.

Application materials can also be picked up at the Old Fire House Teen Center, 16510 NE 79th St. in downtown Redmond.

To talk with a staff member about the scholarship opportunities, call the Old Fire House Teen Center at (425) 556-2370.
