Garbage collection services resume

As road conditions in many areas begin to improve, Waste Management will resume normal collection services for most residential and commercial customers, including those in Redmond.

As road conditions in many areas begin to improve, Waste Management will resume normal collection services for most residential and commercial customers, including those in Redmond.

Additional staffing and equipment will be deployed to collect accumulated garbage and recyclables. Residents may put extra garbage at the curb equivalent to the number of weeks missed due to inclement weather. For example, for customers whose garbage collection was postponed last week, twice the normal amount of garbage will be collected this week on their regularly scheduled collection day. For those who have missed two weeks, we will collect triple the amount of garbage.

Recycling collection amounts are unlimited. Waste Management will have extra staff on the street to handle the large volumes of recyclables anticipated due to the weather postponements and holidays. Recyclables will be collected according to regular scheduling.

Please check the Waste Management Web site for yard waste collection schedules since collection may be postponed this week in some unincorporated areas of King and Snohomish Counties: http://www.wmnorthwest.com/weatherboard.html.

Waste Management would like to remind customers to remove snow from on top of and around containers. Customers located on streets that are still snowy, should move their containers to a more accessible location for service.
