Los Gentlemen were not be denied at this year’s Old Fire House (OFH) Teen Center Classic Rockathon.
The Seattle-based band clinched first place in the final round of the fifth annual battle of the bands at the teen center last Friday night.
Los Gentlemen, who placed second last year, pumped up the crowd with their old and post punk cover songs.
Stuck on a Bus, a heavy rock band, placed second, playing classics from Black Sabbath, Heart and Led Zeppelin. Third-place winners were Pave the Earth and fourth-place went to D-Frost, a group of eighth-graders from Seattle.
The Rockathon raised around $2,000 for educational and recreational programs at OFH, allowed local teen producers to explore the workings of the music industry and introduced young and up-and-coming talent to music fans of all ages.
The teen producers were Emily Koch of Redmond High School; Aisha Ashraf and Nayeem Siddique of Eastlake High; and Steffane Osborn and Joe Villegas of BEST High.
“It was a family affair and the bands all had a blast,” said Chris Cullen, OFH program coordinator.
