On Wednesday morning, a Lake Washington School District (LWSD) school bus hit a patch of black ice on 218th Avenue Northeast and skidded across the road, blocking both lanes.

Kathryn Reith, communication director for the district, said the bus still had three more stops to go before arriving at Evergreen Middle School.

The students were checked by first responders and fortunately, she said, there were no injuries.

Following the incident, Reith said another bus was sent to the site to take the students to school.
