On Saturday, 45 volunteers from Microsoft, Corp. helped restore areas in the City of Redmond’s Westside Park with the support of the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust as part of Seattle Works Day.

Microsoft employees helped remove ivy in order to restore forest health to the Greenway landscape.

The Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust is celebrating its 20th Anniversary in 2011 and is doing a number of volunteer and outreach events.

“It was a pleasure to be able to work with such a self directed group,” said Jeff Taylor of Microsoft. “Instead of managing, we were able to pitch in and do some work.  After working on our small patch for three hours, it was impressive to see how much area had been cleared.”
