On Tuesday, April 5, the Redmond City Council adopted the new Redmond zoning code, which goes into effect on April 16.

The rewriting of the city’s zoning code began in 2009 as an effort to make it clearer and more concise, predictable and user-friendly for city residents, business owners and development professionals.

The new code maintains the integrity of the code concepts adopted by the City Council over time, while using new ideas to achieve these concepts.

The new code is available in pdf format at www.redmond.gov/rcdgrewrite. It can be printed from the website, compact discs are available for $7 each or a limited number of copies are available for viewing at the Development Services Center at City Hall, 15670 N.E. 85th St. In the fall of this year, a new online code will go live with more search features and links to make the code much simpler to navigate.
