Redmond-based Denali Advanced Integration and HP presented $3,000 to the Todd Stabelfeldt Foundation at the Nov. 15 University of Washington-UCLA football game at Husky Stadium.

The Todd Stabelfeldt Foundation works closely with UW Medicine. The donation was made in recognition of a continued dedication to assistive technologies for people with spinal cord injuries.

When he was eight years old, Stabelfeldt was shot in the chin while he and a cousin were playing with guns. The accident left him with C4 quadriplegia, but 20 years later, he is living on his own, financially independent and active in the community.

As his foundation continues to seek a cure, it broadens independence through technology. HP and Denali have also contributed to these ongoing efforts with hardware donations.

Joining Stabelfeldt in the end zone at Husky Stadium Nov. 15 were Malcolm Moses of HP and Mike Daher, Chris Gerhardt and John Convery of Denali Advanced Integration.

In an e-mail to the Redmond Reporter, Convery noted, “As we honor talented college football players and champions and leaders who understand that they create an environment around them, where excellence can thrive and where great outcomes can happen, we are reminded of inspirational leaders like Todd Stabelfeldt. … In sports, ideas like winning, coming out victorious and being our best, are ingrained in our lives. The Todd story reminds us to be the best we can be, strive to always do better, always be competitive (and) challenge how we see things that are simple and important.”
