RedmondLights Winter Festival set for Dec. 7

This year, the RedmondLights Winter Festival will be held on Sunday, Dec. 7 at various locations around the city.

At Redmond City Hall, the celebration from 4-6 p.m. includes food, kids’ activities, an art exhibit, music and fun. Musical entertainment includes Bollywood Christmas, Hawaiian holiday songs, Mariachi music and members of the Redmond High School Orchestra.

Santa will arrive just before 5 p.m. to help with the city’s official tree lighting.

“RedmondLights is one of Redmond’s special events, bringing out young and old to celebrate the diversity of our winter traditions,” said Mayor John Marchione.

Music and entertainment for the Holiday RiverWalk along the Sammamish River Trail plays from 5-6:30 p.m. There will be several new holiday light displays debuted along this magical path of light. As in years past, RedmondLights blinkers will be distributed at the entrance to the trail. Clip on your blinker and enjoy a winter stroll including sounds of Scottish bagpipes, Croatian singers, barber shop harmonies and traditional holiday carols.

At Redmond Town Center (RTC), the festivities begin at 5 p.m., continuing until 8 p.m.

Enjoy complimentary tastes of food and beverages representing the diversity of the community.

A variety of musical entertainment at RTC includes seasonal songs, Hispanic dancers, Zydeco accordion and Taiko drummers.

Kid’s Row offers free arts and crafts hosted by faith communities in Redmond.

Parking is available at either Redmond Town Center or in the City Hall parking garage.

Free shuttle service is available outside of Ruby’s Diner in the south parking lot of Redmond Town Center and at the Redmond Senior Center. Shuttles will run between 3:30 and 9 p.m.

The RedmondLights program provides a schedule of holiday events and services all holiday season, as well as information about local giving opportunities. Programs are available in the winter edition of Focus on Redmond magazine, at www.redmond.gov, in public buildings and Redmond Town Center Information Central.
