A fund has been established at Bank of America in honor of Johnny Brenan, one of three individuals who died in an avalanche Sunday at Stevens Pass.

Brenan was 41 and had graduated from Redmond High School (RHS) in 1988. He is survived by his wife and two daughters and the Brenan Family Fund will go toward supporting the three of them. People can contribute to the fund at any local Bank of America branch.

After RHS Brenan attended Wenatchee Valley College, studying ski-resort management. He then moved to Colorado and worked as a resort ski patroller. In 1994, Brenan started Cascade Contracting in Leavenworth with his wife Laurie and worked ski patrol for Stevens Pass.

Brenan was an experienced skier who loved the mountain environment. He was also a craftsman who remodeled a farmhouse, complete with orchard with Laurie in Peshastin.

A love for skiing ran in the family as Brenan’s daughters, 11-year-old Josie and 7-year-old Nina, were members of Team LYON Alpine Race Club and the Stevens Pass Alpine Club.
