Redmond High boys basketball team wins academic state championship

Redmond High’s boys basketball team won the 4A academic state championship in its sport with a combined grade-point average (GPA) of 3.790.

Redmond High’s boys basketball team won the 4A academic state championship in its sport with a combined grade-point average (GPA) of 3.790.

The 11-member squad’s GPA is tops among all boys basketball classifications.

The 2015-16 Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA), Dairy Farmers of Washington and Les Schwab Tires program recognizes the team with the highest GPA among all Washington high schools in their enrollment classification.

The academic state champions for winter include: band, basketball, bowling, cheer, choir, dance/drill, forensics, gymnastics, orchestra, boys swimming and diving and wrestling.

The winning teams will be presented with a special plaque at the upcoming WIAA, Dairy Farmers of Washington and Les Schwab Tires state championships.
