For one week earlier this month, the sounds of popular pop tunes could be heard wafting from the Adair cabin in Anderson Park as local teens and tweens participated in Redmond’s first ever Glee Singing Camp.
The week included intense work on group songs, solos, voices, choreography and performance lead by camp director Kim Snyder, director of The Voice Club, Alexa Schmuland, Redmond vocal instructor at The Voice Club and award-winning teen choreographer Sasha Johnson.
Campers included Alexandra Anderson, Alyssa Ratajczyk, Anthony Pella, Caroline Love, Chloe Mason, Cora Talley, Eileez Zhang, Emiri Ninomiya, Erik Frederiksen, Katrina Sanko, Lauren Fisher, Lauren Laudenslager, Madison Nikfard, Seren Home, Silvana Segura, and Tiffany Dao.
“We were so impressed with the kids and the families here.” said Kim Snyder of her first camp in the area. “They worked hard and it really showed at the finale concert.”
All of the campers put on an hour-long Glee Style show at the end of the camp, which featured several solos and group songs complete with camp bloopers in the video credits.
The Voice Club will begin private instruction to locals of all ages in September with plans for more camps and student showcase concerts in the Redmond area.
