Redmond students move on to state DECA competition

Sixty-two Lake Washington School District students who competed in the DECA Regional Conference in Bellevue on Jan. 12, will move on to the state competition.

The students below are from Redmond:

Redmond High School

• Everett Boker and Brett Hanaford – third place in Travel and Tourism.
• Mei Brunson – seventh place in Apparel and Accessories.
• Kyle Chandler and Mark Ponto – ninth place in Travel and Tourism.
• Luke Hatakeda and Max Levin – fourth place in Business Law and Ethics.
• Gillian Haworth – first place in role play in Apparel and Accessories, and eligible to compete in Business Administration at state.
• Elise Helm – eighth place in Fashion Promotion Plan.
• Malcom Hirst and Ben Sechrest – fourth place in Sports and Entertainment.
• Patrick Mahan and Peter Modawell – sixth place in Sports and Entertainment.
• Zack Packer and Jackson Safon – first place in Sports and Entertainment.

Eastlake High School

• Mariah Hebenthal – seventh place in Hospitality and Tourism Professional Selling.
• Nir Levin – first place in Entrepreneurship Written/Advertising Campaign.

Lake Washington High School

• Elizabeth Alexander and Marisa Nanakul – sixth place in Business Law and Ethics, with third place for Alexander’s test.
• Cassie Lively with partner Kate Bebee – fifth place in Sports Marketing Team Event.
