The Old Fire House Teen Center’s (OFH) youth advisory board, in partnership with the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI), is hosting “Behind the Lens: A Celebration of Youth Filmmaking” on Friday, Dec. 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the OFH, at 16510 N.E. 79th in Redmond.

This free event will include a panel discussion comprised of local teen directors and adult professionals. They will share stories about their experiences and show short film clips of their work. Those in attendance will have an opportunity to ask questions and network with local film organizations such as Seattle International Film Festival, Northwest Film Forum and PBS regarding volunteer and internship opportunities.

Refreshments will be provided.

The event is in preparation for MOHAI’s upcoming annual film competition “History Is ____” and targets teens interested in filmmaking and the variety of careers filmmaking encompasses.

The teen center’s Youth Advisory Board and Advocacy (YABA) was developed in order to empower OFH participants to create relevant and innovative programming at the center. “Behind the Lens: A Celebration of Youth Filmmaking” is YABA’s first partnership with MOHAI and brings a new level of professional development to an already established arts program.
